When Fates Collide

Really like the idea of Shepard and Ryder teaming up!

I’ve got the idea too, though different from yours in what happens, in my main Mass Effect universe which I’ve called ‘The Cherry Blossom and the Angara’. My female!Shepard is Hana Shepard and my female!Ryder is Sakura Ryder.

Basically, my version of the idea I’ve cooked up involves- the Reapers are eldritch abominations. And there’s these unseen eldritch abominations that we don’t see that are above them, that are using the Milky Way as a ‘giant sandbox’ for experiments. These cycles are their experiments, the Reapers their tools. They, and the Reapers, don’t care about escapees out of trillions of beings in the galaxy, they are not interested in any other galaxies, just the Milky Way. Oh, and trying to find out the truth about the Reapers? You completely lose it, and either go psycho or start writing on the walls in blood. (I didn’t like what canon did in Mass Effect 3 with the Reapers, so I changed that, and the Crucible’s nature too.)

There’s no Catalyst, but there will be a hologram used by Harbinger to assume a ‘form you are comfortable with’ to trick those less fortunate than Hana into activating the Crucible, which is really a trap in this universe.

But all hope is not lost, I have the idea that not all the ‘Benefactors’ of the Andromeda Initiative left the Milky Way, some stayed to help further Ark waves leave during the Reaper war up until the very end, when Hana leaves, all Arks are headed out to Andromeda. And Liara finds out and uses her immense Shadow Broker resources to assist.

What will happen is that Hana Shepard and those of her team and crew who survived will leave on one of the Arks, which is called ‘A New Hope.’ Plus, the Normandy is stored into one of the hangar bays safely for the 634 year long voyage between galaxies...

After all, the potential is too great to waste...Team Hana Shepard and Team Sakura Ryder...it would be time for Kett butt kicking!
